Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Today started out the same as yesterday with thunderstorms in the morning. Which then later gave way to some very isolated showers throughout the rest of the day. Clould cover for the day was almost 100%. Temperatures were in the lower 70's today. With a light northeast wind.

For tomorrow I think that we are going to see some sunshine as the high pressure moves in from the west. However we may see some precipitation from whats left over from the system that just had moved through. I think there could be a very nice weekend ahead of us

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Looks like I was a little off on my prediction for today. I thought it was going to rain. Instead sunny all day and it looks like the rain is going to hold off until tomorrow.

Today is the nicest day of the year so far. Clear sunny skies with temperatures almost nearing 80*. There is a moderate wind from the southeast. I think that the rain is going to come late tonight or tomorrow as the low pressure system moves through. Temperatures should stay the same as today. I think summer is finally here to stick around.

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Well today started out great with an amazing thunderstorm this morning. After the system came through there was off and on showers throughout the day. There was a very strong wind from the east for most of the day. Later in the afternoon the skies did clear and it was actually a very nice evening.

By looking at the weather map it looks as if there is a mid-latitude cyclone developing to our southwest so i predict that there is going to be some poor weather in the future. The Jet-stream also has formed a large trough over the rocky mountains. The weather could get pretty poor this week.

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Today was a very nice day outside. Temperatures were in the mid 60's and in the morning there was a moderate wind from the west which has calmed down. The skies were mostly sunny all day with some alto cumulus clouds. Into the afternoon the cloud cover did increase.

By looking at the surface map currently there is an occluded front off to the west which should be impacting our weather tomorrow. I predict that there is going to be some rain in the morning but then the afternoon should be partly cloudy. Temperatures should stay relatively the same as today seeing as how we are finally out of that jet stream trough that was bringing us the poor weather last week and early this week.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

My predictions were correct for Tuesday, it was a nice sunny day, not as warm as I had expected but nonetheless it was a great day. That high pressure system settled in nicely and thats also why we are having our good weather today.

Today again is very nice. Temperature is currently 60* F with a moderate wind from the southeast. The skies have very few clouds today. By looking at the surface map the high pressure system is starting to move out which also by looking at that low pressure system and occluded front moving in from the west may bring us some precipitation within the next 24 hours.

When you take a look at the jet stream you can see the trough that has been giving us all the poor weather lately is starting to flatten out over us meaning hopefully the colder temps are done for the year. Atleast we can hope so.

For tomorrow I predict that we will have still warmer temps unlike last week. But i do think that front moving in is going to bring us some precipitation in the form of rain possibly later tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Monday, May 2, 2011

Monday, May 2, 2011

Another wintery day when it should be spring by now. Temperatures today are again just above freezing. The wind is currently light and from the west. By looking at the surface map it looks like that high pressure system is going to be moving in tomorrow hopefully going to bring us some clearer skies and maybe some warmer temperatures.

When you look at the image of the Jet Stream you can see that there is that trough again which had brought in all that cold weather like last Thursday.

Tomorrow night should be colder because of the clearer skies and not holding in the temperatures.

Lets hope spring is finally here!

April 19, 2011

This morning started out as a cloudy day, temperatures in the upper 30's. There was the Colorado Low that had developed throughout the day yesterday that is now affecting our current weather. The system had moved eastward bringing some cooler temperatures as well as some precipitation, which currently is in the form of snow.

Currently there is a light wind from the east, temperatures are in the mid 30's right now. By looking at the map the low pressure system is fairly far south meaning that hopefully the snow will not be around for long.

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Today was as I had predicted yesterday. Temperatures increased slightly as the wind continued from the southeast. There were a few clouds throughout the day otherwise it was mostly sunny. The stationary front that was off to the west had turned into a warm front that started to move farther north. Todays temperatures were in the upper 50's today, and the wind was moderate and from the southeast as it was yesterday.

For tomorrow I am expecting to see similar temperatures, however the skies should be cloudier because of the low pressure systems that will be moving in. if the wind continues from the southeast we could see some precipitation with tomorrows cloud development.

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Today was a very nice day outside. Temperatures today reached into the mid 50s with mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few cirrus clouds, but later in the afternoon some more clouds had moved in. The wind was moderate today and from the southeast.

For tomorrow I predict that there is going to be similar conditions. by looking at the surface map there is the stationary front off to the west which could possibly bring in some precipitation depending on what develops from it. if the wind continues from the southeast temperatures could become a little warmer than today.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Today started out with clear sunny skies with a moderate wind from the Northwest. Temperatures today were in the lower to mid 40's. Currently there are some clouds moving in and the sky is becoming party cloudy with winds still from the northwest.

For tomorrow expect similar temperatures, however when looking at the jet stream it might be bringing the low pressure system and cold front over from the west. The low pressure should bring in some clouds, but as the wind keeps coming in from the southwest the temperatures should stay warmer.

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Todays conditions were almost exactly how I predicted. The temps were cool this morning but we did warm up to the mid 40s by the afternoon. Clouds did move in later in the afternoon as the high pressure system had moved out.

Today was a very nice day, clear skies in the morning but later in the afternoon gave way to some high cirrus clouds and then came in some cumulous, Temps were in the mid 40s with a calm wind.

For tomorrow I predict that there is going to be some precipitation as the approaching low pressure and occluded front moves in. Skies should be mostly cloudy, temps however should stay about the same as the past few days.

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

My prediction was right for Tuesday. The temperatures were in the higher 30s with clear and sunny.

I had forgotten to make a prediction for today but the conditions were practically the same.

Today's conditions were sunny with temps in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Clear and sunny skies throight the day with a light wind from the Northwest. The clear skies were still around today due to the high pressure system that is still hanging around.

For tomorrow expect the ealry morning to be a little chilly as the clear skies are going to be letting our heat go. In the later morning to afternoon we should see similar conditions as today. My guess is that as the high pressure moves put there could be increasing clouds which may lead to some precipitation

Monday, March 28, 2011

Monday, March 28, 2011

Todays weather conditions were mostly sunny with temps were right around freezing all day. There was a wind from the north east throughout the day but they are currently very light from the north. Skies were mainly clear today because of the high pressure system in the area.

The clear skies are going to cause some colder low temps throughout the night but they should warm throughout the day tomorrow. The high pressure system should stay around until tomorrow meaning tomorrow should have some clear skies. Temps should be about the same.

Friday, March 18, 2011

Friday, March 18, 2011

Looks like I was pretty close to accurate with my prediction. Temperatures were warmer today and there were no clouds due to the high pressure and warm front.

Today started out cloudy with temps in the mid thirties. Later in the day the temperatures warmed to the mid forties and it was partly clouded with some cumulous clouds. By the later afternoon the skies had cleared.

For tomorrow temperatures are going to be much warmer as I am going to be in Panama City Beach.  Warm and sunny

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

I apologize for my lack of posts but I have been very busy the last few days.

I had predicted the weekend was going to be cloudy with some precipitation which was what happened. The skies were cloudy mostly during the afternoon hours of the weekend as the low pressure system did move through.

Looks like spring is finally here.

Todays temperatures were in the upper 40's with mostly sunny skies in the morning with some cirrus clouds, which gave way to mostly cloudy by the afternoon with some cirrostratus clouds. Winds today began from the southwest which have switched now from the southeast which means that we could be in for some precipitation for tomorrow.

Predictions for tomorrow include some possible rain with temperatures possibly a little warmer with the approaching warm front passing through.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Friday, March 11, 2011

Well today wasnt quite what I had predicted, the low pressure had moved in before than what I had thought. My prediction for temperatures were correct.

Today's conditions started out with some altostratus clouds. Temperatures were in the lower 40's. later in the afternoon there was some sunshine and there was 30% cloud cover. There was no precipitation today, but by looking at the weather map it looks like there may be some later tonight into tomorrow morning.

Looks like the low pressure system is going to move through sometime tomorrow. By looking at the map it also shows an occluded front that is going to be coming through which could be why it looks like there is going to be some precicipation.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Thursday, March 10, 2011

My predictions for today were pretty much spot on. I knew that with the high pressure system coming in there was going to be a colder night, and then sunny skies throughout most of the day and that is what happened.

Today temperatures were in the upper thirties, with a moderate wind from the Northwest. Skies were sunny throughout the day which did give in to a few clouds later in the afternoon.

By looking at the current weather map it seems like there is going to be a warm front moving through most likely within the next day so expect some warmer temperatures after that. Looks like there is going to be a low pressure system behind it so there may be some clouds in the forcast. Tomorrow should be very similar today with possibly a little warmer temperatures.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

There was more snow today than what I had predicted was going to happen. Temperatures were around the same as yesterday. There was not the afternoon sunshine that I had expected to come through.

Today's weather started out with moderate snowfall with a few inches of accumulation. Temperatures were right around freezing all day because I had noticed the snow was very wet and heavy. By looking at the weather map there was a low pressure that did develop which could be why the afternoon stayed cloudy. Later in the afternoon around 6pm I did notice that the temperature did warm up enough to turn the snowfall into rain.

By taking another look at the weather map it looks like there should be a high pressure system that is going to be moving in meaning that we should have some sunshine throughout the day tomorrow. It is possible that it could move in tonight meaning temperatures will be cooler because of the lack of cloud cover.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

My predictions for today were a little off. The skies did clear near the middle of the day which included some high cirrus clouds. I also thought that the stationary front was going to be around longer than it was, but it had dissipated by the afternoon. I also did not predict that there was going to be any precipiation.

Todays conditions started out this morning with cloudy skies covered 100% with altostratus. Temperatures throughout the day were in the upper thirtys and lower forties. The day started with a wind from the southwest which then switched direction to the east and eventually northeast in the mid to late afternoon. The wind shifting direction was a sure sign that there was going to be precipitation. Snow started falling very close to midnight tonight.

For tomorrow expect some light snow throughout the early am. With the high pressure system we are in staying around i expect there to be clearer skies in the afternoon when the weather system bringing in the snow moves out. Temperatures should be the same, as i dont believe there will be a cold air mass moving in anytime soon.

Monday, March 7, 2011

Monday, March 7, 2011

This morning there was light snow with accumulations around 1 inch. The skies were covered 100% by what i believe to be stratus clouds. There were some very light flurries at times throughout the day. Temperatures were in the upper twenties with a very calm to no wind.

By looking at the surface map of today it looks like tomorrow is going to have similar weather as the stationary front may not move much. There will be the high pressure system moving in from the north which should lead to some clearer skies in the middle of the week.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

I was correct in my weather predictions from yesterday. I was correct in the temperatures being colder as the continental polar air mass moved in late last night. I was also correct in predicting that the cloud cover would increase as a result of the low pressure system moving in.

Todays conditions were much colder than yesterday. Temperatures were in the lower teens, with mostly sunny skies in the morning, which gave way to complete cloud cover later in the afternoon. There was no precipitation today. Winds today were coming from the west-northwest.

For tomorrow I predict that the polar air mass is going to move out and lead to increasing temperatures. By looking at the current surface map there is a stationary front to the west which could move this direction bringing possible precipitation and some warmer air.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Current weather conditions are improving throughout the day. The temperature is in the mid 30's as of 2:00pm. Clear sunny skies with high clouds beginning to move in throughout the afternoon. There is also a medium wind from the southwest aswell. Temperatures will be cold tonight as there are no clouds to keep the heat contained.

For tomorrow expect a slight decrease in temperature with increasing cloud cover as the high pressure dome we are in moves out and the low pressure moves in. The system should move through rather quickly and the temperatures will again be in the upper 20's and lower 30's for the rest of the week.

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Todays conditions improved throughout the day. This morning the skies were overcast, but by the afternoon hours the skies became mostly sunny with about 30% cloud cover. Temperatures continued to be in the upper twenties. Winds were on the lighter side from the southwest.

For tomorrow expect similar conditions as we remain in the high pressure area. Temperatures will be cooler than today is the cold air mass comes in from the northwest.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Todays temperatures were in the mid-twenties. Sky cover was about 40%. There was a medium wind from the southwest today.

For tomorrow there will be similar conditions as we are in a large high pressure dome. The high pressure should be around for a few days. Tomorrows temperature should be in the mid twenties again. No chance for precipitation.

Monday, February 21, 2011

Monday, February 21, 2011

The weather today consisted of heavier snow durning the morning which became lighter towards late evening.  Temperatures were ranging in the mid twenties today with a light to moderate wind from the northwest.  Total accumulation from the winter storm that passed through was around 9 inches.

For tomorrow expect similar temperatures with partly cloudy skies.  Possible flurries throughout the day.

Hopefully the snow is done for the year now and it can start to be spring.

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Todays weather was as predicted.  The morning started out on the colder side with fog.  Later throughout the day the sky was covered with clouds 100%.  Later in the afternoon the skies cleared with high temperatures around the high 40's.

For tomorrow there is going to be colder temperatures as the cold front passes and the cold continental polar are comes from the north.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Once again the weather outside is very nice.  The temperature is 45* F with clear skies.  Wind is light from the Southeast.  The previous two days have also been suprisingly nice weather for this time of year.

US: Current Weather

For tomorrow expect similar temperatures as early this week.  However these temperatures wont stay for long.  With the cold front moving in from the northwest (as seen above) expect colder temperatures later this week and into next week.

Monday, February 14, 2011

Monday, February 14, 2011

The weather today is very comfortable.  Temperature at this time is 37* F which feels very nice compared to last week.  There is a light wind from the southwest.  Cloud cover is roughly 70%.  No precipitation today but there is possible precipitation throughout the next few days.

As predicted on Friday the weekend was going to be much warmer than the previous week in which it was.  There was some light precipitation in the form of snow on friday night.

For tomorrow expect similar conditons as today.  Tomorrow temperatures will be in the upper 30's.  Cloud cover should be similar as today.

Friday, February 11, 2011

Friday, February 11, 2011

Today the temperature is much warmer than yesterday as expected.  Temperatures today are in the mid-teens. With a light southwest wind.  Currently there is some very light flurries.  The warmer air is coming in from the southwest which is feuling this warm up.  The sky is cloudy which is covered about 100%.

For tommoriw expect simliar conditions as the temperature continues to increase.  Tomorrow should have similar temperatures and wind, with possible snow flurries throughout the day.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Today is turning out nicer than what I had expected.  At 8:30 this morning the temperature outside was -18 but the temperature has warmed up drastically due to the sunny skies and no cloud cover.  Winds have decreased also from the last few days that we have been having. Current winds right now are calm and from the south east.

For tomorrow expect warmer temperatures as the warm air from the south east continues to come in.  With the warmer temperature expect increasing clouds as it seems that the high pressure system is finally almost on its way out.  There also may be some possible snow in the next few days.

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Todays conditions are what was expected yesterday.  I predicted similar weather as yesterday with the high pressure system staying in the area.  Very cold with a moderate wind from the West.  Clear skis continue as the high pressure is in the region.  Temperature is currently 7* but wind chills are definately below 0.

For tommorow expect similar conditions as the high pressure system continues to move through, winds may decrese but expect them from the west to northwest.  With the high pressure moving out later in the day there is a possible chance for some very light precipitation.

US: Current Weather
